About

For over 20 years I’ve been lucky enough (if there is such a thing) to earn a living doing what I love—photography; specifically, in terms of income, food and still-life photography for a wide range of clients across all industries. To see more of  the commercial work go to www.saccowatt.com. I also enjoy teaching  photography and creative process and have done so both in academia and the corporate world.  It has been a wonderful ride.

In 2008, craving nature, balance and a more spacious existence I relocated  to the Hudson Valley. This was quite a leap of faith for me–trading in my beloved city life after 20 years and not sure what my creative life would look like. I leapt. Everyone should be able to take such a sabbatical….a sanity break, an opportunity to ‘reboot’, reinvent and recharge as it were. It has served me well.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve been on a quest to get to the ‘seer’ in me—that part of each of us that understands; that quality of sensitive perception and knowing a thing for sure. I’m now sure this is why I was drawn to my profession. The great depression era photographer Dorothea Lange said it best: “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera”. This is the gift that photography has given me.
